We know that starting kindergarten can be a big step—not only for students but for their parents too! You may have questions about packing school lunches, the importance of attendance, or even the right way to drop your child off at school.
That's why, to help students and their parents prepare for 2022, we've created a guide that is now available to download as a printable PDF. In the guide, you'll find helpful information on topics ranging from the things students will need on their first day of kindergarten to the reasons why consistent school attendance is so important.
You can view the e-book online or download the guide on our website.
We've created pull-out resources along with the Starting Kindergarten guide, including a handy planner for the year ahead and a comic poster for parents and carers to support their child's transition to primary school. Follow Daisy the koala as she embarks on her exciting first day.
Maths is everywhere! That's why in this year's starting school pack that we sent to schools, we included a collection of fun activities on a fold-out accordion aiming to help students get excited about maths. They'll learn how to conduct a treasure hunt, build a robot, use school lunch to learn about mass, and more.
Visit our Parents and Carers hub for more resources, articles, checklists and tools to help families get ready.

We would like to acknowledge the spiritual connection that the Darkinjung people have to this beautiful rainforest country, Mother Earth. This land where the birds sing, the trees dance and the memories of those past, walk as one. Respectfully, we appreciate the rich history, cultural significance and the legacy left to us now. Our inheritance of survival is determination, courage and strength to ensure this land remains safe and protected for generations to come. We would like to thank Elders past and present, who are the custodians of this place, for their knowledge and memories so that we may take them with us into the future.
